Abstract The energy demand has risen dramatically in recent years as a result of population growth and the fast expansion global economy. Due to rising carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions increasing needs, Malaysia recently intensified its efforts encourage development renewable supplies. Despite abundance solar resources, PV underdeveloped countries such is moving slower. advantage generation since it geographically close equator significant potential due hot sunny weather all year. Therefore question here is, where most suitable place build more power plants? What methods will we be using find plant? In picking for development, several factors must examined, how effective station site decrease overall cost project by minimising proximity existing infrastructures while improving panel production. A geographic information system (GIS) tool that can help solve this challenge. case, integrate economic, environmental, technical variables radiation intensity, local physical terrain, environment, climate, placement criteria distance from roads rivers. As additional input factors, other geographical data were used (solar radiation, digital elevation models (DEM), land cover, temperature). Further analysis Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) based Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) was then applied study get location on importance criteria. order cost-effective high-performing project, complete assessment required. results should give decision support model map determining optimal locations plants Melaka.
